The sales page for Satellite Direct is pretty spiffy looking and pushes all of the right consumer buttons right down to the inclusion of an “As Seen on TV” logo.  But, sales hype is one thing – a good functioning product is entirely another.

So, is the Satellite Direct software legit?

Surprisingly, Satellite Direct TV actually delivered.  The Satellite Direct PC TV software download and installation was simple and the whole thing only took about two minutes. The quality was also very good.  I had expected the streaming to be choppy but it was really smooth and the picture was very sharp.  The sound was digital quality which I found especially good for the music channels.

I have it installed on my laptop and like it that I can take it anywhere that has wireless internet and watch whatever I want.  However, I also bought an “S” video cable so that I could hook my laptop directly into my TV and watch it on the big screen.

Refund Policy

The Satellite Direct software comes with a 60 day no-questions-asked refund policy.  Payment is processed through Clickbank, one of the world’s largest online payment processors and Clickbank guarantees the refunds.  So, if you’re not happy with the product, there’s no need to deal with Satellite Direct TV to obtain your refund.  You just send an email to Clickbank and your refund is made automatically by them.

Wondering how Satellite Direct TV works? 

Without getting overly technical, there are essentially two ways of getting satellite television streamed to your computer – a “traditional” PCTV Card/satellite dish set-up or Satellite TV for PC software.

1. PCTV Cards

A PCTV card is a hardware device that gives your PC (or Mac) the ability to operate like a television, letting you watch TV programs on your computer while it runs other applications at the same time.  With a PCTV card installed, your PC becomes capable of processing TV signals.  However, you still require a satellite dish and receiver in order to receive the signal and send it to your computer.  In other words, if you don’t have dish, a PCTV card won’t get you satellite television.

2. Satellite TV for PC Software

Satellite TV for PC software like that offered by SatelliteDirect.tv works very differently than the traditional satellite dish/PCTV card set-up.  Instead of you receiving and decoding satellite signals at your location, the signals are received and decoded at Satellite Direct’s end and then streamed live to your computer.  If you think about it, it’s kind of like your cable TV company.   With cable TV, all of the channels that you watch are received by your cable TV company via satellite and then “streamed” into your home via the cable that runs to your TV.  Satellite Direct TV works much the same way but it includes 3500 channels and is delivered to your PC via the internet.

There’s no need for a satellite dish or any special hardware.  The only thing required is the software that enables your computer to connect to the service and a broadband cable connection.
